To work towards implementing our goals, NoteWorthy Kidz has developed the following programs:
- Our group lesson program offers group music lessons to
children in grades two through eight. This program allows children to become actively invested in their musical development while improving their academic, social, and emotional skills. Students will be given their music instrument while enrolled in this program, and offered the opportunity to purchase their instrument to continue music instruction after graduation from the program.
- Our artist performances program matches established local
and national musicians with program sites for workshops and performances, particularly to work with students involved in our group lesson program. This program allows students to make personal connections within the art of making music. Students become inspired by working alongside the artist, seeing firsthand the results of hard work and dedication to their instrument.
- Our in-class workshop program is a series of assemblies and
classroom workshops that will integrate music with other academic subject areas, reinvigorating the learning process for students. This program also will introduce our world’s rich musical heritage to students who have had minimum exposure. Students will draw learning connections across their curriculum and will be encouraged to get involved in making music.
- Our music e-magazine program allows students to assist in
publishing an e-magazine based upon their favorite music type. This reinforces student’s reading, computer, and communication skills while developing their music appreciation in a real life setting. Working alongside musicians, journalists, and music venues offers an opportunity to foster partnerships within the community.
- Our traveling music library program provides a mobile music
library of audio, video, and text resources to students involved in the program. Students will improve their computer and library skills while giving them the opportunity for in depth study of music and musical forms. Students will also have the ability to request materials, allowing them to take ownership in their learning process.
